Organizational Development Consulting & Services

Our organizational development services are focused on improving your organization’s  effectiveness, culture and health.  Rather than emphasizing particular individuals, the emphasis of such efforts is system-wide.  Nonetheless, a vital goal of our work in this area is to thoughtfully attend to both the organization as well as the well-being of individuals comprising it.

Elements central to such services frequently include understanding the culture of the organization, how leadership is functioning and is developed, and how and when teams are utilized and their work evaluated.  Our approach involves a careful assessment of the prevailing business environment, analysis of what is learned, and recommendations geared toward helping to evolve the organization.   This evolution is most often achieved through an organizational change initiative utilizing John Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model and designed in constructive partnership with our client to achieve agreed-upon goals.

Our process blends four change management approaches into one:
Strategic Planning

A discipline for assessing past and current competitive conditions, identifying the firm’s capabilities, weaknesses, and key opportunities, clarifying its mission and strategic options, and aligning leadership around priority objectives through focused action plans.

Visioning

A process for imagining a desirable future, whether through incremental improvement or a fundamentally new direction. It involves developing compelling stories and imagery that bring that future to life, then working backward to identify the steps needed to reach it.

Strategic Thinking

A vital aspect of the process is ensuring that the ideas under discussion are truly strategic in focus. To support that, we guide the group to remain centered on the strategic level throughout the conversation.

Graphic Facilitation

A discipline that uses large-format visual displays to capture patterns in the group’s thinking. Through imagery, metaphors, and shared visuals, it helps surface bold ideas and clarify the actions the group wants to pursue. These big-picture displays uniquely stimulate collective insight and systems thinking.
